Frequently asked questions on submitting wedding
announcements for the Utah Bride Guide
- Is it really free?
- Yes, it is FREE online only. There is a $45.00 fee for print product (all ads are posted to the online edition at no cost). Your announcement may be no longer than 100 words. Announcements
may be edited for style, length and clarity and may not necessarily appear
exactly as submitted.
- May I include a photo?
- You may submit one digital photo with an online
wedding announcement submission.
- Is my announcement guaranteed to publish in the online
section?
- Yes. We will publish all wedding announcements online. Please allow at least
a 48 hour period for your announcement to appear online.
- How do I write my announcement?
- There is a sample announcement here, although yours
does not necessarily have to follow the same format.
- What do I do when I am done writing my announcement?
- You may submit your announcement and photo online at www.utahbrideguide.com/announcements/submit.asp.
Next printed section is scheduled for March 2006.
Online submissions are posted within two business days.
- What's the cost?
- There is a $45.00 fee for the print product. Contact 237-2815 for payment arrangements prior to the print date (above) or pay online. Your announcement may be no longer than 100 words. Announcements
may be edited for style, length and clarity and may not necessarily appear
exactly as submitted.
- May I include a photo?
- Yes. However, keep in mind that hard copies of photos ARE NOT RETURNABLE.
- Is my announcement guaranteed to publish in the printed section?
- Every effort will be made to include all wedding announcement submissions.
However, it may prove necessary to limit the number published. In that case,
announcements will be published on a first-come basis.
- How do I write my announcement?
- There is a sample announcement here, although yours
does not necessarily have to follow the same format.
- What do I do when I am done writing my announcement?
- You may bring your announcement to the Newspaper Agency Corp. classified front
counter located at 143 S. Main Street, Salt Lake City. Be sure to include your
name, daytime phone number, address, city, state and zip code. If you are submitting
a photo, please label it clearly and attach to your announcement.
Also, you
may mail your announcement and photo to NAC, Attn: Lori Bodily, 143 S. Main
Street, Salt Lake City, UT 84111.
- Where should I park?
- There is meter-paid parking available on Main Street. Other options include
the ZCMI Center, where parking is free for the first two hours. Crossroads
Plaza has paid parking, with validations available with purchases of $10 or
more. Validations are not available from NAC.
- May I submit my announcement on disk?
- Yes. Please make sure to save your text as “.txt” format AND
include a hard copy in case the disk cannot be read. Clearly label your disk
for identification.
Keep in mind that disks are NOT returnable.
- May I submit my photo on disk?
- Yes. The resolution should be at least 170 dpi for publication. Acceptable
file formats are EPS, TIFF and JPEG. Clearly label your disk for identification.
Again, keep in mind that disks are NOT returnable.
- May I submit my announcement now and specify that
I would like it published in a later Bridal Guide?
- That is not recommended, due to the possibility of change of plans or loss
of your information. There will be plenty of notice before each Bridal Guide
publishes to submit your announcement.
- I got married a year ago. May I submit my wedding announcement?
- It is recommended that all wedding announcements refer to weddings within
four months of the Bride Guide publication date. You can submit anniversaries, birthdays,
births, and other special moments online in the Utah Celebrations Guide.
